1 .Capture Carpet Cleaner/brush gently into carpet pile until the spot or soil is absorbed by the porous particles/wait 30 minutes/ vacuum. (absorb wet spills and allow to dry before using) |
4. De-natured alcohol/ repeat, if necessary ( Pre-test as you would all solutions.) |
|
2. Freeze with ice cube/shatter with blunt object/ vacuum up chips/ apply solvent/ wait several minutes/blot/ repeat, if necessary. |
5. Polish remover (non-oily) blot/ repeat. |
|
3. Solvent/ wait several minutes/ blot/ detergent/ blot/water/blot. |
6. Rust remover or warm oxalic acid solution/ let stand 15 minutes /blot/water/blot. |
When methods other than 1 are used for removal, often traces and rings of the stain persists, even after repeated cleanings. These usually can be removed by first allowing the area to dry and then proceeding with method 1.
When the spot or stain still persists after repeated cleaning attempts with the suggested method or removal, the help of a professional carpet cleaner is recommended.
